2025 Reading Stats
Yay! It's numbers time!
Here is a breakdown of what I read this year. I basically read the same amount of manga as I did last year, but I read about 20 novels less than last year 😬 Yeahhh, I did not have a great reading year.
I also re-read basically the same number of books as last year.
I don't know what's going on in this graph or why September looks like that. Lol.
And here is a closer look at that. My reading was all over the place this year.
This one is also pretty similar to last year. Except I ended up reading two pretty big books this year (Mistborn! 😍)
This year I read the exact same amount of ARCs as last year. Lol.
And this one is similar to last year too.
Ignore that last bar... it shouldn't be there and I cannot be bothered to go back and fix it 😅 But the library still remains my main source of books. I freaking love my library.
Another mistake... sigh. Ignore the 2024 😅 Listen, I'm on vacation, and I'm currently suffering from mosquito bites (I'm allergic and get really bad, painful and itchy welts when they bite 😩) and I just can't be bothered to go back and fix this stuff. Lol. Anyway, this one shows books that I got in 2025 vs books I got before 2025. Books I own and books from the library are included here.
Another chart that hasn't changed much. Still love those series. Lol.
This year, I read a lot more books that were #10-18 in a series than last year... somehow. I really could not tell you what those books are. Lol. Oh! That's a lie. It's manga. Lol.
I did so bad at finishing series this year 🫣
This year, I started rating books with half stars, so this chart is pretty new. I had a hard time finding those 5-star books this year. Last year, I gave 42 books 5 stars 😭
This year, I didn't read nearly as many books published in the 2010s as I did last year, but my most read decade remains the 2020s.
And here is a closer look at that. Like always, my most read year is always the current one.
This one is exactly the same as last year. Lol.
And here is a breakdown of those publishers. VIZ Media publishes manga, so that spike makes sense. Lol.
I read significantly more books by male authors this year. I'm guessing it has to do with all the manga I read.
This one is similar too. And the only reason why the POC section is as big as it is is because of all the manga. Lol.
This one is also just about the same percent as last year.
This one is also surprisingly similar to last year. Again, manga. Lol.
And this one is also similar to last year, which is funny because I used to read a lot more single POV books than I do now. Lol.
About 15% more 3rd person POV than last year!
This is the second year in a row I read more adult books than YA 😲
And this one is also similar to last year. Except I read about 3 nonfiction books less than last year.
This is one of my favorite charts to look at. The horror spike is unsurprising. Lol. And the action spike is due to, again, manga. Lol.
And this one takes a look at how long books were on my tbr before I read them. This year I did a worse job at reading books that were on my tbr for more than a year 😅
And this one is similar except it's books I've owned or borrowed from the library. I need to do a better job at reading those older books 😅
And here is how much money I saved this year, mostly by using the library.
And that's it for this year's reading stats. I love numbers, so this is always fun for me to do. I just hope it's at least marginally interesting to read 😅
I love that you used the word "marginally," your love for all things mathematical is unmatched 😂 Every time I read one of your stats posts, it makes me realize I'm not analyzing things enough 😂 And it IS interesting enough to read!!!
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, my fave graphs are the genres, year published and book length ones
