Synopsis: How do you punish an immortal?
By making him human.
After angering his father Zeus, the god Apollo is cast down from Olympus. Weak and disorientated, he lands in New York City as a regular teenage boy. Now, without his godly powers, the four-thousand-year-old deity must learn to survive in the modern world until he can somehow find a way to regain Zeus's favour.
But Apollo has many enemies—gods, monsters and mortals who would love to see the former Olympian permanently destroyed. Apollo needs help, and he can think of only one place to go... an enclave of modern demigods known as Camp Half-Blood.
I have been really looking forward to reading this series, not only because I love Percy Jackson in general, but because I love Apollo too!
After his involvement in the events of the Heroes of Olympus, Zeus punished Apollo by turning him into a human and sending him down to earth to serve another human... again. Lol. Yes, this has happened before. In your traditional Greek myths, I believe Zeus punished him in this way at least twice. Lol. And here we are again, now serving a twelve-year-old demigod named Meg.
It was very interesting following Apollo as he went from an arrogant god to a humble human... kind of. Lol. He's not totally reformed, but he did show growth in this book. I was curious to see whether he would keep all the lessons he learned as a mortal, but let's be honest. He was a mortal twice before, and that clearly didn't change things at all. Lol. Though we do still have four books left in the series, so he could still surprise me. Lol.
One thing that was really heartwarming to see was how, when Apollo arrived at the camp as an awkward mortal teen, his kids told him that they would help him! I thought this was SO cute! ðŸ˜

Another thing I thought was freaking cute: Nico and Will! 🥰 I freaking love them together! Nico seemed so happy now, and that genuinely made me happy 🥹
I enjoyed this though, probably to the surprise of no one 😆 I really liked the story with the oracles, I like that Apollo is the main character and is forced to feel human emotions lol, I loved the brief cameos from Percy Jackson himself, and I loved when it was mentioned that Annabeth was visiting her cousin in Boston due to a family emergency (Magnus Chase, anyone?)!!! The book was funny and ridiculous, though I do admit that it sometimes crossed the line into TOO ridiculous. But overall, it was a fun read!
