Synopsis: The cat came back...
Marty never liked the cat—it always got in the way at basketball practice. But he never meant to kill it.
Now Marty thinks he’s going crazy. He sees cats everywhere. He knows they want revenge.
Too bad Marty doesn’t have nine lives. Because his first one is almost over.
This book was weird. I mean, Marty kills a cat, but said cat doesn't stay dead and then he starts seeing cats everywhere and thinks they’re after him for revenge 😂 It’s nuts. But honestly, I didn’t hate it, craziness and all. Lol.
I know I mention this all the time when it comes to these books, but man are these characters dumb. Lol. Maybe it’s because I’m getting older? Idk. Maybe they’re just terrible 🤷♀️ Lol. But when Marty accidentally kills the cat, the girls are freaking out, which I get. But this Dwayne dude starts making jokes about the dead cat! Wtf! So unsavory. One thing that I thought was funny is that Marty went to school court... as in he was put on trial because of this. Lol.
As for the mystery, I kinda guessed the person who was behind the things, it was a little obvious. One thing I was hoping was that this book would be supernatural in nature because, I mean, come on. At one point the cats somehow got out of their cages and attacked a guy! If it wasn’t supernatural, I was going to be severely disappointed! Lol. And it totally lived up to expectations! I had a feeling that the twist that occurred was the way the book was going to go, but I kinda loved it! Lol. Oh and that classic Fear Street ending? Loved it! It wasn’t good, but it was good, if you know what I mean. Lol. 😆
The Fear Street connection: Marty lives on Fear Street. Super great. Lol.
I usually cry when an animal is killed in a book and for some reason it sticks with me. I'm glad this turned out to have a supernatural element to it and that you enjoyed it overall.
ReplyDeleteI get that. I'm still traumatized from reading Old Yeller back when I was in middle school
