Synopsis: Hope couldn’t wait to get to college. She was going to share a dorm room with her three best friends. Even better, her boyfriend, Darryl, would be living on the boys’ floor downstairs. Fear Hall was going to be a blast... until things take a terrifying turn.

My rating: ★★★☆☆

I was very excited to read this duology! It takes place at a college! A college that is apparently 50 miles from Shadyside. But of course, the Fears gotta stick their noses everywhere, which is why one of the dormitories is called Fear Hall. Ooof. Sucks. There’s all these stories about Fear Hall involving ghosts, creatures, and disappearances. I kinda love that 😆 And it might be the only thing I liked... 😬

The characters in these books, I swear... One trope I hate in these books is the whole “oh he scares me but I’m attracted to him at the same time” bullshit 🙄 I HATE that! I don’t get it! If he scares you, get out! He's possessive? Break up with him! He killed someone? That has GOT to be a deal breaker. In this book, it’s not 🙃 It drives me insane!

This book was full of blackouts and SO MANY cases of mistaken identity. Which was particularly weird because none of the girls even resembled one another! I ended up guessing the plot twist because it wasn’t too hard to piece together. On the one hand I kinda liked it, but on the other, I totally did not. Our protagonist had a horrible childhood, but the way mental health was portrayed in this... not a fan. I am looking forward to seeing how all this ends, because it was just insane!

The Fear Street connection: Fear Hall was named after Duncan Fear, who made some donations to the college. They really shouldn't have taken the money 😆

Have you read this book? If so, what did you think about it? If not, what do you think? Does it sound like something you might want to read? Leave me a link to your review or comment below! 😊
