Synopsis: First, the bad news: an ancient evil—you know, your standard consume-all-life-in-the-galaxy deal—is about to be unleashed. The good news? Squad 312 is standing by to save the day. They’ve just got to take care of a few small distractions first.
Like the clan of gremps who’d like to rearrange their favorite faces.
And the cadre of illegit GIA agents with creepy flowers where their eyes used to be, who’ll stop at nothing to get their hands on Auri.
Then there’s Kal’s long-lost sister, who’s not exactly happy to see her baby brother, and has a Syldrathi army at her back. With half the known galaxy on their tails, Squad 312 has never felt so wanted.
When they learn the Hadfield has been found, it’s time to come out of hiding. Two centuries ago, the colony ship vanished, leaving Auri as its sole survivor. Now, its black box might be what saves them. But time is short, and if Auri can’t learn to master her powers as a Trigger, the squad and all their admirers are going to be deader than the Great Ultrasaur of Abraaxis IV.
Shocking revelations, bank heists, mysterious gifts, inappropriately tight bodysuits, and an epic firefight will determine the fate of the Aurora Legion’s most unforgettable heroes—and maybe the rest of the galaxy as well.
Omg I loved this book! I feel like I enjoyed it more than the last book, and one big reason is definitely the characters. I love them! And I loved the friendships that developed between them all!
Kal and Ty and the way Kal called Ty brother and told him he had his back... I loved every second of it! And then Kal being quippy with Fin at one point... Yes! Kal is usually pretty stoic, so I really enjoyed seeing these other sides of him. And then him telling Fin that he IS a warrior? I loved this.
We also got some Zila backstory in this and omg, the things the girl went through as a child... it makes you understand why she is the way she is. The way she almost seemed emotionless, but in this book, as she makes connections with her team, we see those walls built around herself start to come down. The friendships were just so good!
The romance on the other hand? Still not my favorite. Well, one of the pairings. I don't know why, but I'm just not on the Aurora/Kal Ship. I mean, I like them as individuals, but together? No. And the Pull thing is just ugh.
And okay, maybe that statement about me not liking the romance is not entirely true because I quite enjoyed it when Scarlett and Fin flirted, especially in the face of danger. Lol. Now there's a ship I can get behind!
And just like I mentioned in my review of Aurora Rising, I am really enjoying the story and unraveling the mystery behind Aurora's powers. It is so interesting! The fact that Auri got on the Hadfield 200 years ago as a human, and now has all these strange powers after getting off of it is insane! I’m enjoying putting the puzzle together.
And I also loved the action! You guys know I'm an action girl, and this book was fast-paced and action-packed! It was very fun and I could not stop reading! And then that plot twist at the end? And the Cliffhanger??
Omg. Everything went all sorts of wrong and now all the characters are dealing with one problem or another. It is insane! Luckily for me, I had the next book ready to go, so I didn't have to wait at all to find out what happened. Lol.
But yeah, I really loved this! I may not like some of the romance in this book, but I really like the friendships and the characters as individuals. I even like Magellan, Auri’s super sassy tablet...

Tyler Jones: He has blue eyes, blond shaggy hair, and dimples that can explode ovaries at thirty meters.
Finian de Karran de Seel: He does NOT have a hopeless crush on Scarlett Jones, thanks for asking. Any rumors that her brother would be a satisfactory consolation prize are none of your business either.
