Thanksgiving Book Tag!

Happy Thanksgiving! And if you're not in the US, happy almost-weekend! 😆

I found this tag over at a GREAT read and it was created by Annasbooknook. I tried to mostly use books I read this year, but there were a couple of categories where I had to pick books I read before 2023.

Friends and Family
A Book With Characters That Feel Like Family

Gin Blanco and friends 🖤

Fallen Leaves
A Book That Fell Flat (Didn't Meet Your Expectations)

The first 50% of this book was amazing! But after that Pip kept making terrible decision after terrible decision and I just did not like the direction this book ended up going at the end.

Thanksgiving Dinner
A Book You Want to Read Every Year During This Season

Even though I'm a big re-reader, this was a hard question because I couldn't think of a book I wanted to read every year during this particular time of year. BUT I have been wanting to re-read Elemental Assassin again... even though I literally JUST finished re-reading it this past March 🙈

Turkey
A Book With A Bird In It

Lyra!

Ham
A Book That Made Your Eyes Glaze Over (Boring)

I didn't hate this book! Let me get that out of the way. Lol. I enjoyed it and thought it was very interesting. I liked that it included excerpts from old medical journals BUT at the same time, those excerpts sometimes made my eyes glaze over just because they read so dry. Lol.

Dinner Rolls
A Book That Melted Your Heart And Made You Feel Warm

All of Janette Rallison's books make me feel warm 🥰 She writes the cutest, sweetest romances, and this book had a collection of three short stories all involving law enforcement officers! I loved this!

Mashed Potatoes
A Book With A White Cover

The books with white covers that I've read this year all have blood on them 👀😂

Gravy
A Book You're Not Totally Sure Why You Love, But You Do

I'm not a big high fantasy reader. I usually only read one a year and it's typically by one of my favorite authors, Jennifer Estep. But this year, out of nowhere, I've picked up a couple and have loved them! I've read two by Astrid Scholte in particular that I really enjoyed! That is very weird for me, but hey, I'll take it!

Pumpkin Pie
A Dessert Book You Love

I'm not quite sure what a dessert book is, but I'm gonna take it to mean a sweet and fluffy read. Lol. And this one was exactly that! I actually don't read a lot of contemporary romance either, but last year I read two Lynn Painter books and I freaking loved them! They were so cute and they made me so happy!

I am not tagging anyone in particular, but feel free to do it yourself if you'd like! I'd love to see your answers! 😁
