Synopsis: It's a big galaxy, and somebody needs to clean it.

When maintenance technician Triana Moore arrives on the planet Sally Ride, she just wants to get through the high-lev meeting and get her relationship with Agent Ty O'Neill back to normal. But everywhere she turns, she's reminded of the serial killer who got away. When a short escape from the boredom leads her to an eerily familiar crime scene, she starts to wonder if she's losing it. With the help of Ty, her frenemy Vanti, and a cupcake truck, will Triana survive the most boring meeting in the galaxy? And will she finally sweep her nemesis out of her life? Or will she run away again--this time for good?

My rating: ★★★★☆

This book started off rough right from the start. Not rough as in it was bad, but rough as in the characters are going through things that almost made me cry. I know I've said I wanted more of the romance, but this is not what I meant!

Aside from that drama, Triana has just about had it with the family business and all the politics and meetings so she just runs away... and straight into another murder.

This girl cannot catch a break. Lol. Especially because she starts seeing Bobby everywhere. You know, the guy who tried to kill her back in the first book...

One thing I loved about this book is that Vanti and Triana team up to solve this mystery, and that was a lot of fun! I love their banter! I love Vanti! She’s so fun and such a badass! And even better, Vanti says she feels like herself when she’s around Triana! I love that! Anyway, Vanti and Triana grab a cupcake truck and go undercover, solving the mystery and looking for Bobby. It was so much fun! And funny, because neither one of them knew how to work an oven 😂 Those AutoKich’ns have really spoiled everyone in the future. Lol. And they’re just plainly bad at business... I loved it!

And while, yes, Vanti is a badass agent, Triana too is pretty badass in her own right. I mean, not only does she have mad hacking skills, but she also takes things into her own hands and gets things done! The fact that she’s constantly saving Ty, is amazing... and hilarious. Lol. But at the end she storms the place and saves the day herself, all while calling the guards idiots 🤣 It was awesome! I mean, at one point while running away from some bad guys, she does stop to chat with a baker about his pastries 😂 You gotta love her priorities. Lol.

But yeah, I enjoyed this overall. As always, it was a fun adventure filled with great characters and an interesting sci-fi world. This may be the last book in the series, but there is a sequel series (Tales of a Former Space Janitor) I am very excited to get into!
