Synopsis: All's fair in love and anarchy...

The epic conclusion to Marissa Meyer's thrilling Renegades Trilogy finds Nova and Adrian fighting to keep their identities secret. While the battle rages on between their alter egos and their allies, there is a darker threat shrouding Gatlon City.

The Renegades' worst enemy is back among them, threatening to reclaim Gatlon City. Nova and Adrian must brave lies and betrayal to protect those they love. Their greatest fears are about to come to life, and unless they can bridge the divide between heroes and villains, they stand to lose everything. Including each other.

My rating: ★★★★★

She had to keep moving. Keep going through the motions. Lie. Steal. Betray.
Because that's how she would free Ace.
That's how she would destroy the Renegades.
That's how she would end this ongoing battle in her thoughts. The war between Nightmare and Insomnia. Hero and villain. She had already made her choice.

This series was great! I really liked the premise and the complicated characters. Nova and her internal struggle between her loyalty to the Anarchists and her new friendship with the Renegades was one of my favorite things. I really felt for her and understood why she remained loyal to Ace, her only living relative. Throughout the series, she does start to question his methods. While the way the Renegades run things isn't the best it could be (I get the Anarchists' argument, I really do), the way the Anarchists want to go about changing things is not good either. And that's one thing I found to be very compelling about this series: how things aren't as black and white as the Renegades seem to think they are. I just think that there are a lot of things in this series that could be applied to real life.

As I mentioned already, I really liked Nova, but I also loved the other characters. Ruby and Oscar were super cute and Adrian was really sweet. I particularly loved Adrian’s relationship with his brother Max, whose powers got more interesting by the second!

Speaking of powers, I loved the variety of powers we saw in this series. I especially loved that we got a bunch of unique ones I'd never heard of before! I don't know about you, but I had never heard of a superhero bleeding gems before reading this book. Lol. The superhero aspect is another thing I loved—I love superhero things in general!

The story was intriguing and a rollercoaster of a ride. Everything that could go wrong did, and just as you think things are starting to look up, they get even worse than they were before! It was wild! And that ending?! I did not see that coming! It was insane! And even more insane was the epilogue with its implication.

But yeah, I loved this! The characters were great, it had amazing action and cool superpowers. I enjoyed following Nova’s journey as she dealt with her internal struggles and just seeing how everything came to pass. I’m really going to miss these characters 😩
