Decluttering My TBR

I haven't decluttered my TBR in quite a while and I thought it was time because the number of books I had was making me crazy! Lol.

This is what I started off with at the beginning of 2024, in January. For this declutter, I took a look at my main TBR, the books I own but haven't read, and the series I needed to finish:

And below is what things looked like at the end of the year BEFORE I got to decluttering. It was overwhelming 😣

So this past week I sat down and went through all three of these lists and got rid of books I knew I wasn't going to be reading and, honestly, it was so satisfying 😌

From my own-to-read shelf, I got rid of a bunch of random freebies I was never going to read and I also decluttered some physical books that I'm going to be putting up on PangoBooks if anyone is interested 👀 But overall I got rid of 172 books!! 😱 And of those 172 books 15 were series I decided to abandon.

172 is a lot of books but sometimes you just gotta go in and cull that tbr, you know? And now I know that those 600+ (😭) books on my tbr are ones I REALLY want to read, so that's a good feeling.

  1. I am mind blown. You did such a huge job, I could never 😂 Getting rid of 172 books AT ONCE is just amazing, truly I admire that 😂

    1. To be fair, I haven't done this in a couple years and it was needed 😅 Lol. It did take me couple days to get through all the books though 😪

  2. So good! I sat down at work one day this week when I was stuck at my desk and couldn't do much else and just started deleting books on my TBR on Goodreads. I got rid of 2-300 books I think, I forgot to keep good track for sure. I need to do it more, with lists other than the main TBR I think. Great job!
