Top 10 Favorite Books of 2024!

It's finally time to talk about my favorite books of the year!! And some honorable mentions because I couldn't help myself 😆

I had been very excited about Only Hard Problems ever since I found out that it was going to be in Zane's POV, and it did not disappoint! I love him so I enjoyed being inside his head and seeing why he does the things he does. Plus, this book was action-packed! It takes place in mostly one day which is something I always enjoy in a book!

Six of Crows I ended up loving more than I expected. I decided to pick it up because I had heard that there was a heist and omg it was SO good! And I also really loved all six of the main characters.

With a Little Luck was such a cute and wholesome read. But I love all Marissa Meyer books so this being one of my favorites of the year is not a surprise. Lol.

Nothing Like the Movies was so heartbreaking but so good 😭 Wes trying to win Liz over again was so cute though! I really love Lynn Painter's romances 😌

I tried to only include one book per series that I read and loved, but I just couldn't NOT include both Percy Jackson books 😆 They were SO good! I just had a lot of fun revisiting this world and following Percy and his friends as he tries to get recommendation letters from gods to get into college.

And, of course, Circe was amazing. Madeline Miller's writing is just amazing! And I love her retellings of these Greek myths!

Tales From the Gas Station was such a fun horror comedy! And it was also the last book in the series, which makes me sad because I'm really going to miss these wacky characters and the wacky situation they always found themselves in. Lol.

I had so much fun reading Assistant to the Villain! I liked this more than I thought I would, so that was a nice surprise. It was just really silly and I LOVED the sexual tension between Evie and the Villain! 😍

I finally understand the hype surrounding Brandon Sanderson. Mistborn was SO good! The world building was good, the magic system was interesting and unique, I enjoyed the story, and I also really liked all of the main characters! I'm looking forward to reading more books from this author!

Honorable mentions:

More Percy Jackson! 😆 I loved these two books as well! These two talked about some myths surrounding major gods and heroes, all told by the one and only Percy Jackson. Lol. I loved his sassy narrations of these myths.

And last is some manga! Although I do feel like this is cheating because before even starting these manga, I had seen the anime adaptations, which I loved, so I knew I was going to like the manga as well 😆 But they're both really good!

What were some of your favorite reads of the year? Let me know!

  1. Great list. I'm currently reading Assistant to the Villain. It's fun! I picked up Spy x Family manga from my library to try. Saw your thoughts on them and they look good. Thanks for sharing.
