Sunday Post #437: Buying Things I Don't Need, But What Else is New

Welcome to The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer, where I talk about what is going on in life and the blog, and show you all the bookish things I got that week!

What I've been doing:

This week at work I trained a new nurse that will be working nights with my patient, and that went well. Aside from that, nothing too exciting has been going on.

Oh, wait! I got a new laptop 🙈 Lol. I knew this was going to happen eventually, but me playing my silly little Sims game has really put my laptop through it. In the last couple of weeks or so it has been dying when it still has 30% battery left and it has been driving me crazy! So I thought this would be a good time to invest in a new computer before tariffs kick in and prices skyrocket 🫠 To be honest, I don't really think I need it, but the premature shutting down was definitely annoying enough to spur me into buying one anyway 😆 I'm still keeping my old laptop though, I'm actually using it now because I haven't even set up the new one yet. Lol. But I plan to continue playing my silly little games on that one, and then I'll use the new one for blogging and everything else that doesn't require too much processing power like games do. Lol.

What I've been watching:

I haven't been posting anything in this section lately because I haven't really been watching anything... except YouTube. Lol. But I don't tend to really post about what I watch on there. Lol. I just always like to have it on in the background for some noise because I don't like the quiet. Lol. And lately it has been a lot of Sims-related things... and no one is shocked 😆 (Although I just remembered that I went to watch Nosferatu with my cousin like two weekends ago and I forgot to post about it... so there's that 🤦‍♀️😂 It was fine. Lol. I like horror, but gothic horror isn't really for me. But it was fine. Lol.)

What I've been playing:

Speaking of the Sims, I didn't play much during the week, but I did play some of my legacy challenge last Sunday and again yesterday. Here is one of the siblings in the doctor career:

And here they are running their little food stand and it made me SO happy to see their customers using the seating I put outside!

And omg here is their mother, my previous heir, pregnant 😭 I literally JUST left her and Neighborhood Stories goes crazy 😂 I could turn off Neighborhood Stories, but where's the fun in that 😂

Oh, here is one of the other siblings who is a detective. She has the mean trait and she thrives when interrogating suspects and playing bad cop 😂

And this is very awkward, but here she is giving a citation to this person who got in a fight. The awkward part: this is the girlfriend (former girlfriend, I guess lol) of the uncle who died last week! Yikes. I guess she isn't processing his death very well 😅😂

And I finally finished the house I was making for the evil alien scientists!

I only used base game and the Get to Work pack. I love doing these limited-pack builds because it's very challenging. But here is a very normal living room and kitchen/dining...

The bedrooms with some nice art I got from the Gallery...

A cozy basement with a secret bookcase door 👀 A nice and normal lab upstairs because they are scientists, after all.

But what does that secret door in the basement lead to? A super secret lab in the basement that's not as innocuous as the one upstairs.

It looks pretty normal at first glance, but I went for a more subtly disturbing evil scientist lab. Lol. If you look closely, you'll see a skeleton in the Test Tube Pedestal...

Oh and what's in these rooms with these one-way windows?

Definitely NOT exam rooms where the aliens may or may not experiment on Sims 👀

And through the far window over the desk with the computer is just the spaceship, which you can see in the backyard! (Also, there were 3 new packs that came out this week and I was SO excited! Don't worry, I only bought two of them 😂 I am so excited to build with them though! One of them has an even BETTER bookcase secret door!)

Nail art of the week:

I realized I haven't posted my nails in a while because I haven't really been doing nail art lately, but I still paint my nails like every week. Lol. This week I am wearing one of my favorite polishes from Cadillacquer called What to Dew? It's reflective and super sparkly and I love it! (Holo Taco, one of my other favorite brands, did a collab with David's Tea, which I also love, and you bet I bought some of the stuff in the collection! Including a mug I don't need and even more nail polishes that I also don't need... but definitely wanted 😂)

  1. Okay, I need to know what type of laptop your old one was because I know it plays Sims and maybe I can find a used one so I can start playing too, lol. The title of this post is the story of my life, lol. I'm always buying things I don't need. Trying so hard not to do that this year, but then this past week I had to buy a dachshund Valentine's day kitchen towel, even though I know I already have one, lol. Hope you have a good week!
