This week I went back to work and my poor patient was sick the entirety of it. She actually missed that entire week of school. AND good news: a couple months ago I mentioned that her insurance terminated her nursing care and that I was only caring for her at school, well this week they reinstated her hours so I was able to care for her at home while she was sick! For now, at least. There's an appeal and while the appeal is in place the insurance is required to grant her those hours while the case is resolved. So we will see what happens because there is actually a court date set for later this month!
Aside from that, I haven't been doing much. I was scrolling through my holds at the library and this was crazy to me:
When I put books on hold I'm never number 29 out of 33 😠Mostly because I don't usually read those popular books. Lol. But this is crazy! I don't know how people who read popular books do it when it comes to waiting this long for a library book to come in. Lol. Also, yes, I did put the physical and ebook edition of the same book on hold. Lol. I do this all the time and then I wait and see which one comes in first and then I'll cancel my hold on the other copy 😆
I finished the bakery for my legacy challenge and I love how it turned out! (You can click on the images to make them bigger.) It took me three days to build as well!
And here is the back. There's outdoor seating both downstairs and upstairs.
And here is the inside. I decided to do this sort of bakery/bookstore combo because obviously 😆 But I think the books really took over. Oops. Lol. But I think it turned out pretty cute! Especially considering that I don't really build community lots. I've built my fair share of houses, but this is probably the first retail lot I've built from start to finish.
I love these little nooks with window seats for reading. And it turned out unintentionally pastel. Lol. But I love the soft colors!
And here is the upstairs. More seating and more books. Lol.
And this bakery is meant to be run by these three siblings (eventually lol. They actually haven't bought the property yet... it turned out very expensive and they need to earn the money 😅):
I moved them into the townhouses I built last week. I'll probably turn it into a residential rental eventually, but for now, even though they technically live in three different townhouses, they're still in the same household because that's just easier for me for gameplay. Which I didn't do a lot of this week because I was building! It was funny because the moment I was ready to finally do some actual gameplay, I first went and turned on Neighborhood Stories for my other Sims so they could get some life changes/progressions automatically, and then THIS happened:
Brian and Blake Solace are twin brothers and uncles of the three sims above. Brian and his girlfriend are having a baby, but Blake freaking died!! 😠All in the same day! Wild! 😂
Anyway, we had a funeral for him. Lol. And here we have everyone crying, including the Sim who died. Fair 😂
Aside from building, I also spent a lot of time in Create a Sim. This ☝️ witchy Sim I made just for fun. I had some custom content I wanted to try out, but I don't really have any gameplay in mind for her. Oh! And I also got a background for CAS! It's very bookish and I love it! The mirror is also pretty cool. Lol.
Then I made some evil scientists who also happen to be aliens! Also just for fun, but I think I'm going to be putting them in my legacy save file as NPCs. The first picture is their human disguise, and the second is their alien form.
I swear I gave this Sim a makeover for his human disguise. The outfit in the first picture was auto-generated and it was so funny to me that I needed to take a screenshot of it 😂 But I did give him a makeover, I just can't be bothered to go back and take a screenshot after I forgot. Lol. But I am building them a house complete with an evil scientist lair in the basement! I'm pretty much done with it, I just have to finish the backyard and the actual basement. This is another build that will probably take me three days... I guess I'm a three-day builder. Lol.

Did I Read the Books I Bought in 2024? |
I got two more sci-fi books this week!
My first week back to school was a snow week! No school! I'm not complaining now, but I probably will when we have to figure out how to add those days back in, lol. I love your bakery/bookstore in the Sims! Gah! I really, really want to play now! Does the cheat code for money still work? I used that so much so I could do whatever I wanted. And then your Sims have to buy the property? So many new things to learn if I ever get around to playing the game again. Glad to hear you are able to help your patient outside of school now. I hope they get that figured out and taken care of so you can continue. Have a good week!
