Favorite New-To-Me Authors of 2025

Today I'm talking about some authors I discovered in 2025 that I ended up really loving!

Andy Weir

This was such a good book! I loved the mix of humor and heart, and all the scientific stuff was very intriguing! Was it accurate to real life? I honestly don't know—I'm not an astrophysicist or whatever 😂 BUT it made sense for the story, and that's all that matters. Lol. Now I gotta go back and read The Martian! I'm excited!

Matt Dinniman

This book was SO freaking fun! I love the whole apocalyptic thing and the mix of sci-fi and fantasy. The creatures were really interesting, and I loved the main characters! Especially Princess Donut 😆

Brandon Sanderson

Okay, to be fair, I read the first Mistborn book in 2024, but since I didn't do a favorite authors post for that year, here we are. Guys, I finally get it. I finally understand the hype around Brandon Sanderson, and let me say, it is well deserved. I loved this series SO much! He is just so good at worldbuilding, the political intrigue, the magic system, and at writing memorable and likable characters!

Let me know who some of your favorite authors that you discovered in 2025 were!

  1. Last year, it was Julia Huni. This year, it might be Brandon Sanderson 😂 Your impact on my reading could be someone's research topic 😂 Although, to be fair, I did read his YA series a long long time ago. I think the first book was called Steelheart 🤔 In any case, I enjoyed it a lot but at the time I had no idea who this guy was nor that he had this whole universe of books 😂

Andy Weir manages to write the perfect blend of humor, life threatening situations and existential crisis 😂 I hope he never grows tired of this trope because I could read it forever.
