Synopsis: Pip is not a detective anymore.

With the help of Ravi Singh, she released a true-crime podcast about the murder case they solved together last year. The podcast has gone viral, yet Pip insists her investigating days are behind her.

But she will have to break that promise when someone she knows goes missing. Jamie Reynolds has disappeared, on the very same night the town hosted a memorial for the sixth-year anniversary of the deaths of Andie Bell and Sal Singh.

The police won't do anything about it. And if they won't look for Jamie then Pip will, uncovering more of her town's dark secrets along the way... and this time everyone is listening. But will she find him before it's too late?

My rating: ★★★★★

Another great mystery from Holly Jackson! I cannot get over how good her writing is! I really enjoyed this!

So it's been a little while since the end of the last book, and Pip is dealing with the aftermath of all that and the trial that is currently going on. But then Pip is basically recruited to find this guy Jamie who went missing and was last seen at Sal and Andie's memorial. But this case of a missing guy quickly spiraled and turned into something else entirely, catching me completely off guard. It was wild and I enjoyed every minute of it! 😆 It was SO messed up, but also very intriguing! Just like in the last book, I liked how the mystery was unraveled and I really enjoyed seeing all the puzzle pieces fall into place.

Another aspect of this book that I liked was that it included podcast transcripts (yep, Pip is doing a podcast), sketches, to-do lists, notes, and even photographs she took! It just added to the story and it was just cool to see exactly what she did. I just love the way this was written! It's so much fun!

Not gonna lie, this book got dark. Which is not to be unexpected, after what Pip went through in the last book. But she made some very questionable decisions in this book that made me feel bad for her and want to yell at her at the same time.

But overall I really enjoyed this sequel! The mystery was intriguing, the unexpected turn very much welcomed, and it was just GOOD! It was insane! And because of the insanity that happened, I’m very curious to see where the story in book three will go and how everything will be wrapped up.
