Sunday Post #212: Magenta Hair...

Welcome to The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer, where I talk about what is going on in life and the blog, and show you all the bookish things I got that week!

What I've been doing:

I had purple hair a little while ago but I'd been fading it this whole summer because I wanted to get my hair lightened a bit more. Well, I did...

And not 3 days later I recolored my hair again. Lol. I had purple hair for about a year, but this time around I wanted to do a little something different. I decided to do a purple to magenta ombre, and this is what I got:

Even though Renji and I now have matching hair color apparently lol, I'm gonna be honest, I'm not sure I'm crazy about the results. The magenta looks more reddish than pink. Here's another shot (it was cloudy this day so I couldn't get good lighting ðŸĪ·‍♀️ lol):

It's Saturday evening as I write this, and I just finished ordering more Purple for Brown Hair because the jar I have now has only about 1/4 left and I have A LOT of hair! LOL. It's a good thing I used Overtone cause you bet I'm gonna put purple over this magenta and I don't want to damage my hair. Lol.

In other news, I've been studying Japanese again! I've been really enjoying it! Here is my progress so far:

I only have a 99% because I go back and redo lessons until I get it. Lol. I finished Unit 2 earlier this week, but I still wouldn't be able to hold a Japanese conversation, btw. Lol. And yesterday I started Lesson 2 in Unit 3 and it's HARD! Everything else has been kind of difficult but I eventually get it, but for whatever reason I think I'm gonna have a hard time with this one. This lesson I am working on right now is about learning the days and months and all that stuff. But also, here is the thing that really gets me, in Japan they have a lot of different ways to say numbers. So I learned a couple numbers but you add a different suffix when pertaining to different things. And now that I am learning months, they are combining that with numbers and I don't understand! If you asked me to tell how you would say that the baby is 18 months old, well, the number eighteen is juuhachi, but no! You wouldn't say that the baby is juuhachi months old!

Here is what I'm talking about. We got a baby who is 18 days old (juuhachinichi) vs a baby who is 18 weeks old (juuhasshuukan) vs a toddler who is 18 months old (juuhakkagetsu) vs a teenager who is 18 years old (juuhassai). Japanese numbers, man. I think it's just a matter of me distinguishing between a day, a week, a month and so on. I will get it eventually... even if I have to make flashcards 😂

Book Haul

Bought:

More Marissa Meyer, and more importantly, more Lunar Chronicles! YAY! I am SO excited to start Wires and Nerve! The Lunar Chronicles withdrawals are real! Lol. Also, I was so excited to rip into this package when it arrived today that I broke a nail and chipped my polish. Lol.

It's been a couple hours now, and it still kinda hurts. Lol. (Also, I already filed it cause it was kinda sharp. I literally painted my nails 2 days ago so I think this is gonna stay like this for the next week. Lol.)

Library Loot:

This one is a group read in a Goodreads group I'm in, so we'll see if I can get to it this month!

Bookish Swag:

The author of this book, Kate Williams, is so sweet! She sent me these goodies for being part of the blog tour for her book! Expect that post to be up this coming week! Anyway, thank you so much Kate! I absolutely love this!

How was your guy's week? Get any bookish things? Let me know in the comments below or leave me a link to your post!

  1. I love your hair! That definitely happens to me all the time though, where the colour comes out a slightly different than I expected.
And that’s so cool that you’re learning Japanese, I bet that’s a really tough language to learn. The number thing definitely looks complicated!
    Have a great week! :)

    1. Thanks! 😊 I'm not too upset about it. Yesterday after I washed my hair I actually used the extreme purple daily conditioner, and it kinda turned my hair more of a magenta color. It's definitely more purple now, so I'm gonna keep washing my hair with the purple until it's the color I want. Lol.

It is tough! So, Spanish is actually my native language, so I feel like learning something like Italian would've been a lot easier because they share those Latin roots. But why would I make things easy for myself? ðŸĪŠ Lol. Japanese is just so different from Spanish and English, so it's a lot of memorization. But I'm enjoying the challenge 😉 (Literally the only reason I'm learning Japanese is so that when I watch subbed anime I don't have to have my eyeballs glued to the subtitles 😅😂 Although I would love to visit Japan one day, too!)

  2. The magenta looks pretty, but I hope you get it just how you want it. I keep my hair purple using a purple conditioner---I think it might be similar to Overtone. Might have to try that sometime (though the conditioner seems great for keeping up my purple).

    1. Yeah, it might be similar because all Overtone is colored conditioner. I use the deep conditioner initially to put in the color, and then they have a daily conditioner you use in the shower to keep the color bright. That's the one I'm gonna be using to see if I can get my hair more on the purple side. Lol.

  3. Bravo on learning Japanese. I've been told it's a very difficult language to grasp. I've toyed with coloring my hair but too chicken. LOL

    1. It is difficult, but I kinda like it. Lol. Girl, try Overtone! It's literally just a color depositing conditioner, so there are no chemicals and it doesn't lighten your hair. I highly recommend it! I've been using it for over a year now!

  4. Love the hair color! I think it looks great. Kudos on your Japanese studies. I imagine that’s a very difficult language to learn. I’ve never read anything by Jennifer Estep but I’ve been eyeing Kill the Queen lately.

    1. Thanks girl 😊 Omg Jennifer Estep is my favorite author! And Kill the Queen is great! I highly recommend it! Well, any of her books, really. Lol.

  5. I like how your hair turned out and how it changes color. That's awesome you're trying to learn Japanese, it seems quite difficult. I've fallen behind on Jennifer Estep's Elemental Assassin series, but I did recently listened to Kill the Queen.
