Synopsis: Jamie Baker, the only girl in the world with superpowers, has now accepted who she is and learned to control her power. Not to mention she has the best boyfriend on the planet. Life is finally looking good. But the day she witnesses an accident and decides not to save the guy out of fear of being exposed, she realizes that simply being Jamie Baker isn't enough.

After seeing Jamie so wrecked with guilt, the ever-helpful Ryan Miller decides it's time to make all of his fantasies about turning his girlfriend into an honest-to-goodness superhero become a reality.

Of course, coming up with a decent Super Name and fending off all of Ryan's attempts to get her into spandex aren't the only problems Jamie faces. The more her alter ego starts to make headlines, the harder it becomes for Jamie to hide her extracurricular activities from her best friend, the government, radical scientists, and the mysterious new guy who is determined to steal her from her boyfriend.

My rating: ★★☆☆☆

Being Jamie Baker was one of my favorite books of 2021. Meanwhile, More Than Jamie Baker was one of my least favorites of the same year 👀 Yeah, that’s how little I liked the sequel. It was just frustrating!

I don't know what it is about the second book in series and their need for a freaking love triangle! I hate love triangles! And to be fair, this didn't have a love triangle exactly, but the threat was there throughout the book and I did not enjoy it one bit.

So Jamie and Ryan are off at college, where Jamie makes a new friend that can't take a hint 🙃 Teddy. Teddy's incessant flirting with Jamie was SO freaking annoying! When Ryan did it in the last book it was cute and charming, but this guy? No thanks. To be fair, he understands Jamie in a way Ryan can't...

And it's for this reason that she "desperately wants Teddy in her life." 🙄 Her words, not mine. Ugh. I just didn't understand how his flirting made her laugh! It was so frustrating! I couldn't stand him! And I felt so bad for Ryan. This guy just couldn't take a goddamn hint! I am glad, however, that Jamie never gave in to this guy's flirtations.

There was this subplot with Ryan's friend Mike that I actually didn't hate, considering the awful thing we found out he did to Becky in the last book. Jamie spends some time with this guy, and they have this conversation and... I just felt so bad for him. He did a terrible thing, but I like how this book gave his character depth and made him more complex.

That and the romance between Jamie and Ryan is the only thing I liked about this book. Ryan continued to be the most charming and sweetest person ever, and I love him 🖤 But Teddy's obnoxious presence annoyed the hell out of me. And then that ending just made things worse! It was infuriating! I loved the first book, but I was just not a fan of the direction this book decided to go. I honestly don't think I'm gonna bother reading the third book just because I'm so annoyed 😅 But the first book? Highly recommend! Lol.

Have you read this book? If so, what did you think about it? If not, what do you think? Does it sound like something you might want to read? Leave me a link to your review or comment below! 😊
