Spoiler alert for volume 55 (the spoiler in the spoiler tag is for volume 56, so click on that with care. Lol): The villains in this arc... it’s the Quincies! 😲 That’s right, they’re back, bitches! Lol. Or they never left? Honestly, I’m confused because I thought they were all wiped out back in the day, but I guess not? I’m really excited to see more of these guys, though! Anyway, they’re back and they’re hatching some sort of revenge plot against the Soul Reapers for the aforementioned extermination of the Quincies 😬

My one gripe with this volume and the reintroduction of the Quincies is that there were A LOT of new faces and it was hard to keep them all straight.

This volume obviously had a bit of action. We get to see Renji, who is my absolute favorite, kick some ass. And we also get some Byakuya, another of my favorites! And Toshiro who... oh my gods, something awful happened and I just can't 😩

His Bankai was stolen! 😱


It was so sad! Just... everyone is getting their Bankai stolen or straight up killed and it’s a disaster and I’m not okay 😭


This whole idea of the Quincies stealing a Bankai is pretty cool though. But it doesn’t mean I have to like it! Lol.

Anyway, speaking of getting killed, I think Izuru is dead and that is not okay because I love him! 😩 Just looking at that panel again as I write this review is bringing tears to my eyes 😭

Meanwhile, Ichigo is battling it out in Hueco Mundo and Urahara is being super sassy and I love it. Lol. Oh and we get to see little Nel again! I love her! She is SO freaking cute! 🥰

This book... man. EVERYTHING that could go wrong did! I may have cried at one point. These Quincies are real trouble and I’m very nervous about how things are gonna go from here 😬
