Synopsis: Three books in one collection—all by bestselling author R.L. Stine.

In "The Rich Girl", Emma and Sydney found a bag stuffed with money. But they didn't know they would have to kill to keep it.

In "The Dare", Johanna's finally in the cool crowd—and she'll do anything to stay there.

And in "The Prom Queen", is a serial killer murdering the prom queen candidates? Or is it one of the girls?

My rating: ★★★☆☆

Idk about dangerous... dumb, though? Certainly! 😆

The Rich Girl

Sydney and her friend Emma find a bag filled to the brim with cash inside a dumpster. Our main character, Sydney, is pretty well off, money-wise. However, her parents don't want her to be a spoiled little brat (looking at you, Reva. Lol), so they had her get a job. And you know what? Sydney doesn't even mind working, which I like. This is how she finds the bag. She was at work taking out the trash when suddenly she saw this bag of money. Being the good person that she is, Sydney wants to turn the money into the police.

Her friend Emma, on the other hand, is quite poor and is in need of money for her mom’s operation. So when Sydney brings up the idea of turning the money in, Emma is like NOPE. I get it, I really do. But nothing good could ever come of this. Especially in a Fear Street novel. Lol.

I really liked these twists, but I really wanted more from the ending. Maybe something deadly with a kill or something? This was just insane, but I really enjoyed it!

The Dare

If I had to use one word to describe this book it would be: dumb. The premise was dumb, the characters were dumb, it was just... dumb. These pranks and dares the cool kids pulled are not funny at all. I really did not understand why Johanna was so adamant about hanging out with them. And then Dennis, one of the cool kids Johanna has a crush on, he was an entitled prick and I did not like him! She doesn’t tell her close friend Margaret about any of this because she isn’t part of the group and wouldn't understand about the dares and whatever 🙄 Well, I guess that's why I don't understand either 😆 And the lengths Johanna would go through to accomplish these dares to get in with these idiots, it was unbelievable. She was awful! The fact that she actually considers killing the teacher is insane! I’m sorry, but she was just not a sympathetic character AT ALL.

The Prom Queen (Fear Street, #15)
The Prom Queen

I really liked our protagonist Lizzie. She was very believable in her actions and totally not like the typical characters in a horror movie who do stupid things and get themselves killed. Oh and Lucas... he thinks he’s so funny but he is totally not! He is insane! And I am so glad Lizzie put this idiot in his place when he needed it! Dawn was awful! She kept making inappropriate jokes and just—murder is not funny, okay? Jeeze. It was so weird how all these girls were “friends” when it didn’t feel like this at all. They certainly don’t act like it. It almost seems like they only tolerate each other. It’s so odd!

Overall, I really liked The Prom Queen! The mystery, suspense, and all around creepiness.
